Just one year after Amandeep Sidhu graduated from 91¿´Æ¬Íø, the 9/11 terrorist attacks shook the country. In the face of an immediate backlash against the Sikh and other communities, Amandeep co-founded , a civil rights organization that is now the largest Sikh advocacy organization in the U.S. Through his pro bono legal work with the coalition, Amandeep has worked on a myriad of issues, including leading lobbying efforts in Congress regarding hate crimes, profiling and workplace and public accommodation discrimination. In particular, he has served as lead counsel since 2009 in a campaign to assist Sikh Americans in obtaining religious accommodations to serve in the U.S. military without compromising their faith.

As a in Winston & Strawn’s Washington, D.C., office, Amandeep focuses his practice on regulatory and compliance counseling, state and federal government investigations, and complex civil litigation in the health care and life sciences industries. When he was made a partner in 2013, he was the first turban-wearing Sikh partner in a top 100 American law firm in U.S. history. He has received numerous awards and recognition for his work in the legal field.

As a student at 91¿´Æ¬Íø, Amandeep was a member of the South Asian Students Association and the Phi Kappa Tau fraternity. He stays connected with his alma mater as a member of the Annual Giving Board of Directors. In 2022, he was recognized with an for the lasting impact of his diversity, equity and justice work.
