Life in the U.S.

Explore Resources for Living in the U.S.

These Life in the U.S. resources are meant to provide guidance for new and continuing international students to navigate various aspects of U.S. living, including finding housing, seeking medical care, money management, transportation options, and more.

If you have questions, please contact the Office of International Students, Scholars & Programs.spring, flower blossoms, biking, student on bike, outdoors

In addition to these resources, all W&M students and scholars can consult with their program or department for additional support resources. The Office of Student Transition Engagement Programs (STEP) supports the transition of students into and through their W&M experience. Each individual graduate school at W&M has their own student support services.

All W&M students are also served by the Office of Care Support Services, which can connect you to resources all over campus, depending on what you need assistance with.

Campus Opportunities

One of the best ways to begin to explore life in the United States is by becoming involved in student life on campus. We celebrate the rich diversity of the W&M community through campus organizations, international arts and culture events, speaker series, film festivals, and symposia.
