Password Recovery
Set-up a recovery email address for your W&M account
Ever forget your W&M account's password? It's frustrating, and it can happen at the most inconvenient times. With a bit of advanced planning, you can reset it on your own, at any time, through our new Self-Service Password Recovery system.
To change your recovery email address, follow these steps:
- Go to the site.
- Look for email in the list of sign-in methods. Click on the change text next to your current recovery email address to update the email address.
- Confirm the email address (Use the code in the activation email sent to the recovery email address you selected).
And you're all set!
To initiate a password reset for your WMuserid:

| 3. Answer the captcha and click next. | |
| 4. Confirm your recovery email address and click the Email button. | ![]() |
| 5. You’ll receive a verification code via your recovery email, enter it and click next. | ![]() |
| 6. Set your W&M Password. We require passwords to be a minimum of 15 characters. Microsoft will reject passwords from it's global banned password list or from a list of W&M banned passwords. | ![]() |
