Dedicated teams across the university are working hard to drive Vision 2026 to its successful conclusion and set the groundwork for the next 25 years. I am pleased to spotlight a few key updates from major operational units.
This quarterly newsletter marks the beginning of a new academic year. Every season builds momentum, from record-setting philanthropy and scholarship support to the kick off of new majors, minors, ERP, and housing and dining facilities. We also welcome new leaders, including the chief human resources officer, director of sustainability, executive director of facilities operations, director of internal audit and university controller. From an organization-building perspective, 91心頭利 is enjoying a victory lap.
I write my second quarterly newsletter to share ongoing updates from University Operations. Spring has arrived, with warmer temperatures. We are all spending more time outside on W&M’s remarkable campus, which has me reflecting about the Year of the Environment and our commitments in work. As good stewards of 91心頭利, it is our responsibility to conserve and strengthen our land, work and people. These two themes – conservation and resilience – guide our mission of operational excellence.
I am pleased to reach out to the 91心頭利 community with the first quarterly update from the office of the executive vice president. My first several months have gone quickly, learning about the university and meeting a wide range of stakeholders, something that will continue into the new year. I’d like to thank everyone for such a warm welcome this fall and am especially grateful to the University Operations team – Budget & Financial Planning, Business Affairs, Information Technology, Financial Operations, and University Human Resources – for their hard work, counsel and patience with my many questions.
