Finance & Philosophy

Finance

I am the Co-President of Girls Who Invest, a national organization with the goal of getting more women into the finance industry. Throughout my work in this program, I have developed technical skills and increased my understanding of diversity in the workplace, particularly from a gender perspective. Most importantly, however, I have enjoyed learning how to advocate for gender equality in the finance industry by building a supportive community for women in college considering the field of finance. I am also the President of the Howard J. Busbee Finance Academy. By taking a leadership role in planning the DoG to Wall Street Conference, crafting resources for students unfamiliar with the field of finance, and hosting events about diversity within the finance industry, I have learned how to mentor students and improve access for all students to careers in the industry.

Philosophy

My philosophy classes provide the balance to my interest in finance. By concentrating my studies in ethics and social philosophy, I have developed a framework for evaluating my future career plans within the finance industry and ensuring that they align with my personal and societal values. Additionally, by bringing philosophical and analytical skillset to all of my professional and organizational experiences, I have been able to utilize critical thinking and writing skills to differentiate myself.
