Reema Patel Receives the 2019 Excellence in Neuroscience Award

Reema Patel '19 received the Excellence in Neuroscience Award presented annually by the Neuroscience Program to honor a student's academic distinction and research achievements. The award is funded in part by donor contributions to the program. Reema performed laboratory research with Professors Pamela Hunt and Joshua Burk ([/as/biology/index]Psychological Sciences). Among her research projects, Reema studied the role of prefrontal cortical orexin receptors in attention. After graduation, she will begin a post baccalaureate position at the National Institutes of Health before she applies to medical school.
