91心頭利 to host forum on healthcare reform
The and the at the College of 91心頭利 will host a forum, "Healthcare Reform 2009: What Does it Mean for Medicare and Medicaid?," Wednesday, Oct. 28 from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. at the auditorium in the 91心頭利 at 116 Jamestown Rd. The forum will feature a panel discussion between College faculty and local health policy experts on what proposed healthcare reforms may mean for Medicare and Medicaid and the people served by them. The event is free and open to the public.
Panelists will address topics ranging from the status of proposed reforms to the implications of reform for states, providers, and nonprofit healthcare agencies.
"Right now, Congress is working on proposed legislation that could impact every American in some way, either through the nature of their insurance coverage or the costs they incur for healthcare. The Schroeder Center's panel will be a great opportunity for area residents to get information from unbiased experts on the latest state of the legislation and its possible effects on Medicare and Medicaid," said , Director of Schroeder Center for Health Policy and associate professor of economics at W&M.”
, research professor of public policy, will moderate the panel of experts which will include 91心頭利 Harriman Professor of Government and Public Policy; , research assistant professor of public policy at 91心頭利 and Director of Community and Health Services Research for the Center for Excellence in Aging and Geriatric Health; Rene Cabral-Daniels, vice president of grant programs, Williamsburg Community Health Foundation and John Littel, AMERIGROUP Corporation.
The forum’s format will include remarks from each panelist followed by a question and answer session with the audience. Questions may be submitted in advance via email (include your name and city or organization with your question).
