On December 11, 2025, the community of Hispanic Studies majors, minors, faculty, and interested students gathered together to celebrate the end of the semester with music, food, and good conversation. It was also a special occasion to celebrate the achievements of our two winter graduates, Stella Davis and Brandon Carranza-López, whose contributions to our program has been most appreciated. This was also a joyous occasion to celebrate the recipients of some of our Hispanic Studies awards. Clara Rinker and Harry Rohne were honored with the J. Worth Banner Award, which recognizes HISP majors with the highest GPA after completion of their junior year. The achievements of Hannah Deschler and Junior de la Rosa Martínez were recognized with the R. Merrit Cox Award, which celebrates graduating HISP majors who have achieved an outstanding level of academic excellence, and who embody the richness of the HISP program. Our celebration marked the end of a fruitful semester, and reminded us how important it is to share our joyous moments in the community that is the HISP program.
