Celebrating the Publication of The New Latin American Fashion Reader

Hispanic Studies celebrates the publication of The New Latin American Fashion Reader, co-edited by Professor Regina A. Root together with Stephanie Saunders. Building on the groundbreaking impact of The Latin American Fashion Reader (2005), this new volume offers a timely exploration of Latin American fashion in moments marked by decolonization, heightened calls for representation, and debates around sustainability. Libro Regina

The multi-authored volume brings together contributors from Latin America, the United States, and beyond, and will be of interest to students and scholars of Latin American cultural studies, fashion and design, visual culture, and decolonial thought, as well as to practitioners working at the intersection of fashion, sustainability, and social justice.

The Hispanic Studies program congratulates Professor Root on this important publication and looks forward to incorporating the book into courses and conversations about fashion, culture, and decoloniality in the Americas.
