Could you be a Democracy Scholar?
We are looking for a cohort of 24 students who are curious, open‑minded, and eager to explore their roles as active participants in a democratic society. Just as democracy draws ideas and strength from citizens with many different experiences, interests, and careers, Democracy Scholars recruits students from across multiple disciplines to learn, engage in dialogue, and build community together.
Ideal applicants demonstrate a genuine interest in understanding others’ experiences, engaging in thoughtful deliberation on political and social issues, and collaborating to address shared problems.
We value students who bring creativity, inventiveness, and a willingness to explore new ideas. We’re looking for students who are excited to build community, communicate openly, and work together across differences to imagine and enact practices of active citizenship.
