CS professor to help in Georgian Papers Programme
Professor Zhenming Liu is co-PI on a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities to support the digital humanities and the Georgian Papers Programme.
The grant will fund a collaboration between the W&M libraries and the Department of Computer Science to improve the capabilities of Transkribus, a handwritten text recognition system, which is currently being used to transcribe documents for the , an international project to digitize historic manuscripts from the Royal Archives and Royal Library relating to the Georgian era, 1714-1837.
