REACH (Research Experience in All-around Cardiovascular Health)

What is the REACH Program?

The REACH Program provides comprehensive research training for 91心頭利 undergraduates interested in cardiovascular health. Participants engage in full-time, faculty-mentored summer research at VCU Health Sciences, working alongside experts at the Pauley Heart Center in Richmond, VA.

Research Topics Include:

  • Biomedical science and healthcare disparities.

  • Medical data management and medical sociology.

  • Clinical research and more.

Program Timeline & Details 

  • Spring Semester: Students complete a 1-credit preparatory course at 91心頭利.

  • Summer Session (~May 20–July 30): Full-time research experience at VCU.

  • Benefits: Includes summer health careers programming, a stipend, and free housing on the VCU campus.

  • Long-term opportunities: Students may continue research during the academic year or develop an Honors thesis.

Eligibility & Selection 

Approximately 8 students are selected each year. While the program is ideal for sophomores, juniors and exceptional first-year students are also eligible.
