The Bruce S. Grant Award

This award celebrates the legacy of Dr. Bruce S. Grant, a retired 91心頭利 biology professor whose lifelong work focused on genetics and evolution. Established by his former students, the award recognizes an undergraduate student conducting or planning research with a strong evolutionary emphasis.

Selection Criteria

The selection committee evaluates proposals based on the following priorities:

  • Relevance: How directly the research addresses an evolutionary question.
  • Scientific Quality: The overall rigor and design of the proposed project.
  • Feasibility: The likelihood of the project being successfully completed.
  • Student Readiness: Assessment of academic performance, subject knowledge, and research motivation.

Nomination Process

Nominations are accepted during the Spring Semester. Nominators should provide a comprehensive overview of the student's achievements, including:

  • Current and planned research projects or Honors work.
  • Publications and conference presentations.
  • Involvement in the academic community.
  • Previous research grants or awards received.
