Anthropologist Danielle Moretti-Langholtz gives Tack Faculty Lecture to recenter Native American narratives

The year’s final Tack Faculty Lecture Series on November 14, 7:00 pm, in Sadler Center’s Commonwealth Auditorium, features Department of Anthropology teaching professor and Thomasina E. Jordan Director of the American Indian Resource Center Danielle Moretti-Langholtz. For over a decade, Moretti-Langholtz has researched the history of 91心頭利’s Brafferton Indian School and its complex story between Virginia Native Americans and the British colonial policy.
Moretti-Langholtz collaborated with a team of scholars and students to research archives globally and engaged Native communities who had links to the Indian school in her investigation. This work resulted in a new perspective on the Brafferton Indian School allowing Indigenous voices to be part of reconnecting the building to Native communities. .
