Non-Degree Seeking Concurrent High School Applicants

Current high school students may take classes at 91心頭利 for credit or they may audit classes. Most students choose to receive credit, as those classes may be transferrable to other colleges. The Registrar's Office maintains a list of scheduled courses.

Guidelines for Concurrent Students

  • Students must have the support of their high school and apply to the Office of Undergraduate Admission by the established deadlines.
  • Non-degree seeking students register after all degree-seeking students have registered (immediately before classes begin), therefore, enrollment in a particular class cannot be guaranteed.
  • Admission as a concurrent student does not guarantee subsequent admission as a degree-seeking student.
  • In order to be considered as an in-state resident for admission and tuition purposes, an applicant must complete the application to determine physical residency/in-state tuition found within the for evaluation by the Registrar’s Office.

Not a high school student? You can still apply as a non-degree seeking student with the University Registrar.

Requirements for Concurrent High School Applicants

  • Enrolled high school student in good standing

    The student cannot have obtained a high school diploma prior to the start of the term for which he or she is seeking concurrent status.

  • Strong high school transcript

    The student should have few, if any, grades below a B in high school.

  • Equivalent standardized test scores

    Standardized test scores (PSAT, SAT I or ACT) that at least approximate those of admitted in-state first-year students.

  • Qualifying reason for taking the class

    The student should have a special interest in an area not offered at their high school, have exhausted the high school curriculum in an academic area, or have scheduling conflicts that prevent enrollment in an applicable high school course.

Application Checklist

  1. Obtain written permission from your high school and send an official transcript with courses, grades and standardized test scores to the Office of Undergraduate Admission.
  2. Complete the  and the application to determine physical residency/in-state tuition.
  3. If permission is required for a specific class, you are responsible for contacting the instructor.
  4. If you are under the age of 16, written permission from the instructor is required. Written permission must be returned to the Office of Undergraduate Admission along with your non-degree seeking application.
  5. Follow enrollment directions as laid out in your admission acceptance letter. Non-degree seeking students are not able to register until the actual first day of classes (with the exception of those taking courses during the summer sessions).
  6. Non-degree seeking status is granted for one semester only; therefore, students must reapply every semester.
